Quoted in Tytell (178), 1987, p. 136.According to Tytell Pound wrote to Barry that he ‘[doesn’t] really believe in Noh’ because ‘it is too fuzzy and celtic, even too “90s.”’ No date is provided for the letter, but such sentiment is in accordance with that of a letter Pound wrote to Quinn in June 1918 (59f). That his feeling that the nô is ‘fuzzy’ changed over time is clear from much of Pound’s later writing, including a later letter to Barry herself (see 82e2).
