BK. Ezra Pound
14. ‘Affirmations II: Vorticism’. New Age 16/11 (January 1915): 277-78.
Pound ‘for the third or fourth time’ has
been ‘called upon to define [Vorticism] quietly, lucidly, [and]
with precision’ (see also 10-12),
and as in earlier definitions turns to Japanese art, in hoping that the
Vorticist ‘search for form-motif will lead us to some synthesis
of western life comparable to the synthesis of oriental life which we
find in Chinese and Japanese painting’.
