BJ. William Plomer33. Causley, Charles. Review of Collected Poems (16). London Magazine 7/8 (1960): 76-79.Causley finds that the ‘secret’ of Japan ‘eludes’ most Western poets, including Plomer. The japonaiserie in this collection is ‘scratched as if with thin, dry icicles on the side of Mt. Fuji’, and ‘nowhere matches’ the prose accounts in Plomer’s Double Lives (10).
