The last of Holloway’s four essays about the influence of foreign cultural traditions in English literature includes notes about the relation of early writing about the nô, especially by Stopes (D23) and Fenollosa (see especially BK13b and D10b), to the ‘anti-Romanticism’ of ‘post-symbolist’ English poetry, including Yeats’s verse drama.
